Use a PNG from macOS Screenshot or the Windows Snipping Tool, or paste straight from the clipboard.
Write the caption
The Text panel is already open. Type the line, then set the position, color, size, and font.
Download the PNG
Export PNG for crisp text, or JPG when you need a smaller file for chat or email.

How do I add text to a screenshot?
Drop a PNG or JPG into the tool, or paste one with ⌘V / Ctrl+V. Type the caption in the Text panel, choose above or below the image, then download a PNG or JPG. The text is drawn onto the image, so it stays put when you share the file.
Can I change the font, size, and color?
Yes. Pick a system, monospace, or serif font, set the size, and choose any color. White text on a dark background is the default because it stays readable on social posts and docs.
Does the text go on top of the screenshot itself?
The caption sits in the padding above or below the screenshot, so it does not cover buttons or UI. Use Annotate Screenshot when you need an arrow pointing at something inside the image.
Is the screenshot uploaded?
No. The image is drawn on a canvas in your browser. It never leaves your device, which makes the tool safe for unreleased product UI.
