Frequently Asked Questions
How do I resize an image for all social media platforms at once?
Drop a single image into the tool, tick the platforms and post types you need — Instagram post, YouTube thumbnail, LinkedIn cover and so on — and click Generate. Every version is created in your browser and can be downloaded together as a ZIP.
What are the correct social media image sizes?
Instagram: 1080×1080 (square), 1080×1350 (portrait), 1080×1920 (story/reel). Facebook: 1200×630 (post), 1640×624 (cover). X/Twitter: 1600×900 (post), 1500×500 (header). LinkedIn: 1200×627 (post), 1584×396 (cover). YouTube: 1280×720 (thumbnail), 2560×1440 (banner). TikTok: 1080×1920. Pinterest: 1000×1500. All of these are built in.
What happens when my image is a different shape than the target?
Choose 'Fill & crop' to scale the image up until it covers the whole frame and trim the excess from the edges — the usual choice for photos. Choose 'Fit inside' to keep the entire image and pad the remaining space with a colour you pick — better for logos and screenshots.
Which format should I upload to social networks?
JPG at 85–95% quality is the safest choice: every platform accepts it and files stay small. Use PNG when the image contains transparency or crisp text (logos, UI screenshots). WebP is fine for your own website but not every network accepts it as an upload.
Is my image uploaded to your server?
No. Cropping, resizing and encoding all run locally in your browser. The image never leaves your device.
Can I use this for Open Graph / link preview images?
Yes. The 'Open Graph / link preview' size (1200×630) is included and works for Facebook, LinkedIn, Slack, iMessage and most other link unfurls. For a designed OG image with text, try our OG Image Generator.
