Does it work on fan noise, AC hum, keyboard clicks and room echo?

Steady noise — fan and AC hum, laptop whine, hiss, mains hum — is what it does best. Keyboard clicks are reduced but not removed, because they are short bursts rather than a constant floor. Room echo and reverb are not fixed; that is a different problem that needs acoustic treatment or a dedicated de-reverb plugin.

Is my file uploaded to a server?

No. The tool runs FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly inside your browser tab. Your recording never leaves your device, and there is no file-size limit beyond your browser's memory.

Which strength should I pick?

Start with Medium. If you still hear hiss under the voice, try Strong. If the voice starts to sound thin or watery, go back to Light. Always compare with the original before downloading — the right setting depends on how loud the noise is relative to the voice.

Why does my voice sound robotic or underwater on Strong?

Strong reduction subtracts more of the frequency spectrum, and when the noise overlaps the voice it takes some of the voice with it. That leaves the warbly, metallic sound people call 'robotic'. Use a lower strength, or re-record with the microphone closer to your mouth so the voice is much louder than the noise to begin with.

Can I avoid this step when recording my screen on a Mac?
